This is a Must-Go! 50s atmosphere that is bona fide - not staged, and food that is classic to the point of being 'New American'! And forget about calories - just go for it! I mean, is there any real reason on earth to forgo the Blueberry Fritter French Toast?! Everything here is big & delicious like when you were a kid - enjoy!

The food was pretty decent. I had the chicken fried steak and it surprised me. The bakery items were delicious as well. The waitress was attentive and polite.

The food as usual was great and the prices are reasonable. Best of all is the daily baked bread goods. They are always a take home item or items.

Perch Dinner was great. Can't wait until morning. Cornbeef Hash & egg's. Best I've had on the road across the country. Best dinner rolls also. Been eating here for 25+ years a must stop when coming thru Madison!!

Friendly staff, good food, fast service from the kitchen. I would recommend this place.

I was craving a nice hot breakfast on my last day in Madison and my best friend brought me here. I've never been here but Im from Madison. Shame on me right? LOL. The waitress was very nice and I appreciate the social distancing rules being in place. Thankfully nobody was coughing in the restaurant. The food I ordered was so good. I will be back when I come home to visit.

Cinnamon rolls the size of your head, big menu, open all hours, what more do you need from a diner? Oh yeah the food is good too!

Our server was absolutely amazing. We dont remember her name but her server ID is 12. She was very attentive and could answer everything we asked as it was our first time there. The food was wonderful and definitely filling. Will definitely return and hope to get same server.

I’ve been eating here for years. As a driver I find those Mom and Pop truck stops to be the best. Until tonight I’ve never had a bad meal here. I went with a traditional comfort food, the Chicken Fried Steak. In all my years (58), Chicken Fried Steak has been a breaded, fried, hamburger steak. That’s the way I’ve always seen it. So without a second thought that’s what I ordered. This was not traditional in any way. It was a deep fried, breaded, sirloin steak. So it was severely over cooked, (well done and then some). Then they put white gravy on it and brown gravy on the mashed potatoes. ???? I’ll never do this meal here again. On a positive note, the wait staff were pleasant and attentive. Really disappointed.

When I went there I thought it was amazing food. The pancakes were really big and there cinamon rolls were huge to. Are waiter was really nice. And I just thought it was a good place to eat. It is also not that expensive. And I just want to go there again.

First time back in the 3 months since the shut down. Nothing has changed. Food is so-so, service was good but the scariest words were "just sit anywhere". No social distance, no masks, wait staff delivers food, drinks, silverware with bare hands, same old laminated menu's that stay on the tables so obviously they are not being wiped down. I am no germaphobe, but I was running to the bathroom to scrub my hands afterwards.

Been going here for years and it's always great. First place I went after the Rona shutdown. A+

If I could put 0 stars I would not only did they rush us to order they were rude and only came to our table once. Then after I had paid for our food and waited for extra food ordered I was rudely asked if we even paid our tab. Why wouldn't we!?!

It was Sooo Good. The waitress was very friendly& helpful. Food was good as usual. Nice to see people's faces..

Mother's Day dinner was fabulous baked chicken with the works plus strawberry shortcake...love this place!

Wonderful bakery! Cinnamon rolls are massive and to die for. Country fried steak is juicy and delicious in its triple shot of animal proteins.

I love stopping here when we can for a quick bite to eat. Everything is always good. Great service too. Don't get this way often but when we do we always stop. Today we got the prime rib Saturday special. Very reasonable prices. We got some desserts to go of course. This place is always a good stop. Ample truck parking.

I really enjoyed their dishes. I always get excellent customer service there. The place is neat and the workers are always super friendly. Will come back again.

This Pine Cone truck stop location is a smaller truck stop as compared to truck stops in general. I was in my pickup truck pulling my travel trailer needng to get gasoline, some coffee from the self-serve bar, and ice for the cooler.Facilities were clean the employees were pleasant my transaction was efficient.

Nice friendly little place in a Shell Truck Stop with great home cooked type food and great service at very reasonable prices. Does the deliciousness ever stop? Dutch apple pie ala mode!

The food was good and the bakery was phenomenal but our waitress sucked. Had to wait for our soup when people that came in after us got there soup right away. When I asked to get ours before our meal she told me she had to wait until they brought it to her, snotty attitude. Everything else was terrific!

HORRIBLE!! Do not eat here, I got a Ruben sandwich and the meat was BROWN! I told them the meat was old and they argued with me, telling me this is how corned beef looks. It is not how corned beef looks. My husband got corned beef hash and the meat looked normal on his sandwich. They asked if I wanted a different sandwich, they took the Ruben off my bill and charged me full price for the new sandwich. No apology, no refund. Nothing I will never be returning and we visit this location very often! So disappointed.

The food was good so was the portioning and taste. Even the pricing was reasonable. What was not was the service the waitress tried so hard to be nice to our group that dined in. I asked for lemon wedges for my soup and was ignored and still she walked away and ignored our table for quite some time. As we finished up our food i noticed the other waitress was just staring at me with a scowl on her face so i starred back confused and she legit made a face at me. I really hope they were just having a bad day either way i will not be returning.

Everything was delicious! The portions are huge, so we also have lunch for tomorrow. This is a truck stop dinner with a friendly family atmosphere. The pastries are equally magnificent.

The food was very tasty and delicious and the service was very good.

This is one of the best late night places to go in Madison. They have low prices and lots of food. It's a nice truck stop off the highway. You can get a full meal or 2 with each visit and fill up with gas too. I like to come in the middle of the night when it's not busy. The staff is pretty awesome. I've always had good experiences here. I recommend the cheese curds.

First off, had been coming here for 20+ years. Service and food here has gotten worse and worse over the years. Waitress tonight was polite and friendly.Kitchen messes up to go order, owner wants to take mess up back even after we said we would keep it and would like the correct order. Owner does not want to give back. When asked if it's going to be thrown away, she rudely States it doesn't matter unless we're going to pay for it. 1 small side item with $3.00. So we said we'd pay for it. When asked again after we pay, she said it doesn't matter if they're going to throw it away. What a rude owner. Will NEVER be back. Food is not worth it anyway. Go across the highway to TA for better service and better food.

It was ok. Service was friendly. Pancakes were good. Biscuits very dry. Turkey sandwich though real turkey way to thick - better if thinly sliced or shredded. Coconut cream pie good. Will give it another try.

Stopped for a late lunch. Food was excellent and the service was very prompt. They did have a good crowd. The cinnamon bread toast was fantastic. They do need to update the mens room. It is tired and needs some repairs.

OPEN FOR TAKEOUT! In this day of sickness it has been hard to even get a cup of coffee at some of the truck stops much less anything decent to eat. This family owned restaurant is at a truck stop, they are serving 3 meals a day, take out. They make everything in house from the salad croutons to the pecan rolls. GOOD FOOD! The baked goods are awesome! If we get back up this way again we'll be back. We've been here once before and came out of our way to come again.

Great little truck stop diner with killer baked goods. Giant cookies, cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, pies and cakes let alone a good dine in menu. Food is fresh and as ordered. Great dive/ greasy spoon type of joint.

I came here because I had visited the one in Johnson Creek and figured this place would be just as good. I was wrong! We weren't greeted very nicely and when we sat down our waitress seemed pretty rude. We had asked her for more lemon wedges and she ignored us twice. My sister sat there lost in thought and another waitress was giving her a dirty look. Its funny they have a sign on the register that said something about not forgetting kindness (I think) but they sure didn't express to much kindness. The food was not to bad but the vibe is not worth recommending.

Some of the best blue collar diner food you might ever eat. Don't let the truck stop fool you. Stop in grab a bit to eat. Food is outstanding and priced reasonably. You get a lot of food for your money. You won't leave hungry. Service was good, friendly, and fast. They serve brakefast and dinner.I had the cinnamon roll french toast with a side of hashbrowns. I am pretty sure it was homemade. It was pretty much dessert for brakefast. Highly recommend trying if you haven't.

Have never had bad food there. Nice prices, large portions, staff is friendly. Stop everytime we're in that area.
